This week I have been
READING
- When Rosie met Jim by Melina Marchetta
- Ferragost by Melina Marchetta
ATTENDING a school art show (those Kindy artists are amazing)
CLIMBING down stone stairs and a metal ladder and rock scrambling to go
SKETCHING at the level of the harbour at Cremorne Point and
FEELING the worries of the week wash away in the sun and the wind and the sound of the waves
WATCHING
- Rice by Michelle Lee at Griffin Theatre (intriguing theatre – go and see it!)
- some great teaching at my school during Teacher Observation sessions
PICNICKING on a crunchy baguette and goats cheese in the local park with Lucy
When Rosie Met Jim is so good omg & it left me even more desperate for a Jimmy book than I’ve already been which,, I didn’t think was possible… ICB Marchetta destroyed us like this in basically a single chapter.

Then I’ll move on to The Piper’s Son, which is my absolute favourite except if I’m reading Finnikin or Jellicoe… how about you?

Jellicoe & The Piper’s Son are my contemporary faves too! I think…. It’s so hard to choose omg 😮 From Lumatere I think Froi is actually my favourite part??? I’m about to start my reread of it rn I’ve been putting it off for like a week after I finished Finnikin bc ummm… I’m not ready for the Pain.
